Worlds Apart, for iPhone, iPad and Mac

Write to hello@worldsapart.app. A person reads it. Tell us the device, the version from Settings, and which world you were in, because with this app the world you were in is usually the answer.

The questions we expect

Where did everything go?
Into the other world, most likely. Worlds Apart shows you one world at a time and while you are in one, the other does not exist. Tap the world's name at the top and the whole surface inverts.
How do I get to my sets and chapters?
Press on the list and pull down. Five destinations open in the gap and the one under your thumb fills and says its name. Slide sideways to change it, let go to arrive. Let go on nothing and the list springs back, so trying it costs you nothing.
What is the difference between a set and a chapter?
A set does not end. A chapter does. Groceries is a set. The move is a chapter, and when its date passes it closes itself, whole, and files itself away.
I wrote something and it is not in any of my sets.
It is in the Inbox. Anything typed on Now goes there, and so does anything arriving from Siri or the share sheet. Each world has one. Move a line out of it into a set or a chapter whenever you like. The Inbox is the only container that cannot be deleted or archived.
Why can I not see how many things are left?
Because nothing is counted. Not on the icon, not on a widget, not anywhere you can read it. A number you cannot clear is a debt, and this app refuses to hand you one. This is the product, not an oversight.
A repeating line is not on Now.
It only appears on Now when it is due. Between times it waits inside its own set or chapter with a quiet mark and the date it comes back. Change its schedule or its time from the long press menu. The first time you change one, it asks once whether you mean just this one or every one from now.
My chapter disappeared.
It ended. A chapter closes itself on its own date, without a notification, and files itself into the archive whole. The next time you open the app it says so once, and that line is dismissible. Anything repeating inside it stops with it.
Can I get something back out of the archive?
Yes. The archive is read only as it stands, and unarchiving is done from inside the thing you are looking at. It asks you for a new date, because a chapter without an end is a set.
A reminder did not arrive.
Check that notifications are allowed for Worlds Apart in the system settings, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb was not on. The app hands the reminder to your device's own alarm system and the system delivers it. We schedule, we cannot deliver.
My other device is empty.
Both devices need to be signed in to the same Apple Account, and iCloud Drive needs to be on, because sync is your iCloud and not our server. If iCloud is off there is nothing to sync through. The line naming your last successful sync tells you where you stand. Export and import move things by hand at any time.
What does the free app hold?
Both worlds, fully sealed, with the crossing, the Focus binding and Now, plus the Inbox and one set and one chapter in each world. The Inbox never counts against that. The one purchase buys history: more than one at a time, and keeping a finished chapter as a record.
Do I have to buy it three times?
No. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. There is no subscription and no trial.
How do I get everything out?
Settings, Export. It writes two files you can open and read yourself, one per world, always separate. Import takes them back.
I deleted the wrong thing.
Undo. It holds everything you have done since you opened the app. A line you completed is kept out of sight for thirty days as well, which is what makes undo and export work after the fact.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Settings has a delete all, and removing the app removes the local copy. To clear the iCloud copy too, use delete all before you remove the app.
